The Governor of Hong Kong's comments on the two points mentioned in the last paragraph of my letter have now been received and I am able to give you the further information promised.

So far as recognition of previous service is concerned I can now assure you that there is nothing in the Hong Kong Salaries Commission Keport to prevent

(1) Mr. Brawn's

(2) Mr. Minch's

(5) these officers'

police service in Hong Kong prior to ist January, 1947,
